FUEL / ENVIRONMENTAL CHARGE INFORMATION
As we all know, unfortunately, some costs we have no control over. With the costs of environmental compliance and fuel costs increasing, there has been a great impact on our industry. Our goal is to be fair to all parties involved, and in order to do so fuel charges moving forward will be a fluctuating percentage. When fuel prices rise the fuel charge will go up but as it decreases adjustments will be made accordingly.
HOW WILL MY FUEL CHARGES BE CALCULATED?
The Energy Information Administration of the U.S. Department of Energy (EIA/DOE) puts out a chart called Weekly Retail On-Highway Diesel Prices. This chart is used often and well recognized in our industry. Click the link to view the U.S. Department of Energy website. The price of diesel fuel is then used in correlation with the GEL Fuel Index Chart. Please reference the GEL Fuel Index Chart to determine the current percentage of the fuel charge. The rate will be changing on your invoices.
HOW ARE MY ENVIRONMENTAL CHARGES CALCULATED
We are dedicated to keeping our environment as safe as we can. The environmental charge reflects our cost of reaching a high standard of environmental compliance set by our management team and external governmental regulatory agencies. This charge is a recurring charge and usually is a fixed percentage of all invoice charges including the fuel recovery, excluding taxes.
